The Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., will hold a series of community dinners open to the public, one each month from February through April.
The first meal, Chicken Taco Casserole and a bowl of turkey vegetable soup, will be offered on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. There is no cost for each meal, according to an announcement by program organizers, but donations are appreciated. The meals will be takeout only and may be picked up at the Parish Hall door through the porch on the parking lot entrance.
Individuals are requested to make a reservation by calling 315-336-5170 with their name and number of dinners no later than the day before of each meal to ensure there will be enough meals for all who attend. If callers receive an answering machine, they should leave a voice message with their phone number, name and number of dinners they wish to pick up.
The March meal will be Irish Stew and the April meal will be Shepherd’s Pie. The dates of those dinners will be announced at a later date, organizers added.
COVID-19 restrictions will be in place and social distancing and the wearing of masks will be required. The meals will be bagged and presented at the time they are picked up.
