Woman on county’s Ten Most Wanted list taken into custody
UTICA — The only woman on the Oneida County Ten Most Wanted list for 2022 was taken into custody at a motel in north Utica Wednesday morning, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
Jessica J. Reed, 42, of Herkimer, has been wanted since March on a charge of criminal possession of a firearm, authorities said. She was originally taken into custody in April 2021 after she was found with a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Utica.
Authorities said law enforcement officers located Reed at a motel on North Genesee Street on the morning of July 6 and she was taken into custody. She is scheduled to appear in Oneida County Court.
Reed was No. 10 on the Ten Most Wanted list, though the Sheriff’s Office has noted that the number rankings hold no special meaning or significance.
