Woman charged with shoplifting

A case of shoplifting at Tops supermarket in Rome has led to charges against a 44-year-old woman, according to law enforcement officials.

Police said Nicole K. Campbell, of Railroad Street, stole $238 worth of items from Tops on Erie Boulevard at 3:26 p.m. June 10. Police said Campbell put several items in a bag and walked out of the store without paying.

A warrant was issued for Campbell and police said she was charged on Wednesday with one count of petty larceny. She is scheduled to appear in City Court.
