ROME — A 44-year-old woman was found with a quantity of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Rome, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Melissa S. Maxim, of Rome, was found behind the wheel of a disabled vehicle at Ridge and South James Streets at about 9 a.m. Feb. 6.
Police said Maxim made some incriminating statements while officers were approaching her vehicle, and she was searched.
A quantity of meth was discovered, police stated. Following an investigation, Maxim turned herself in to answer a summons on Wednesday on one count of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, authorities said.
She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
