ROME — A Whitesboro woman is accused of shoplifting baby formula from Market 32 in Rome, according to the Rome Police Department. 

Police said Vanessa Bennett, 34, stole $221 worth of baby formula from the supermarket on Black River Boulevard at about 2:43 p.m. Sept. 8. Police said the store manager recognized Bennett from shoplifting formula in other local stores he manages. 

Bennett is charged with one count of petty larceny, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
