Woman accused of starting fire at Lowville residence
LOWVILLE — A Lewis County woman is accused of starting a fire at a residence on Campbell Street, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies said Tammy Stevens, 49, of Lowville, intentionally started a fire at a residence on Campbell Street on Aug. 27, causing damage to the home. No one was injured.
Following an investigation, Stevens was taken into custody on Thursday.
Stevens is charged with one count of attempted second-degree arson, a class C felony, authorities said. She was arraigned in Lowville Town Court and was sent to the county jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to reappear in court.
