Waste Authority seeks feedback from community with survey
UTICA — The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is interested in hearing from community members about how they recycle, how familiar they are with the Authority and its facilities and any feedback they may have about the Authority’s outreach, according to an announcement this week from the organization.
In 2022, the authority reached more than 98,500 people on Facebook, had 570 new newsletter subscribers, had over 13,000 views on YouTube and 54 new subscribers, and had almost 90,000 website visits, OHSWA officials reported.
This proves the commitment that Oneida and Herkimer County residents have to recycling and learning more about the Authority, officials said, adding that to try to better tailor its education and outreach efforts, the authority is asking for residents’ assistance with completing a Recycling Education Survey. The survey asks about how recycling information is accessed, what authority facilities are used and confidence levels relating to authority-related topics.
There is also an opportunity to provide feedback on the authority’s education and outreach efforts. Survey participants can choose to share their name and email address to enter a drawing to win a “Green Team” t-shirt, or can choose to remain anonymous. All survey responses will remain confidential and will only be used internally by the Authority.
The Recycling Education Survey can be found on the Authority’s Facebook and Instagram pages and on the homepage of the Authority’s website. A link to the survey or a physical copy of the survey can be requested by contacting Recycling Coordinator Eileen Brinck at eileenb@ohswa.org or 315-733-1224 ext. 1400.
