The Landmarks Society continues its tradition of providing free Summer Walks & Talks on Monday nights in and around the Greater Utica area.

The Walks and Talks remaining include:

• Aug. 8: The Oriskany Falls Historic District. A tour of some of the interesting and historic sites in this southern Oneida County village that has been dramatically shaped by the unique geology of the area. Meet in front of the Limestone Ridge Historical Society building, 233 Main Street, Oriskany Falls.

• Aug. 15: The Stone Barn at Beardslee Castle and Beardslee Castle, Little Falls (Town of Manheim). There is a brand new banquet facility outside of Little Falls that was once part of the Beardslee Manor complex, but is now completely separate. It is a stunning transformation of an historic barn into a top shelf facility. Also a tour of the iconic and historic Beardslee Castle, now a restaurant and event facility. Meet at The Stone Barn, 124 Snells Bush Road, off of Route 5.

• Aug. 22: The Library Air BNB (corner of Lansing St and Kossuth Ave,. Utica), The Lightbox Event Center, (852 Bleecker St.), and Santa Rosalia Chapel (701 Jay St., corner of Mohawk). The former East Utica Library is now an Air BNB. Get a glimpse of this dramatic and innovative transformation. Then to The Lightbox, a new and modern event facility that has been nicely adaptively reused. Finally, the Santa Rosalia Chapel has risen like a Phoenix from dire straits into what appears to be a bright future. Hear the latest updates on this chapel. This tour will require driving between the three venues. Meet in front of The Library Air BNB, across the street from Ventura’s Restaurant.

• Aug. 29: The 171 Events Center, 171 Genesee St., Utica and The Compound, 106 Genesee St., Utica. Another events center, this one located right in downtown Utica on multiple floors, will open its doors for the final tour of the season. The tour ends at The Compound, a new, creative and innovative eatery located on lower Genesee Street.

All Walks and Talks begin at 6 p.m. sharp and are held rain or shine. Wear comfortable shoes.
