ONEIDA — Four Vernon-Verona-Sherrill girls basketball players scored in double-figures as the Red Devils overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat host Oneida, 54-53, on Friday night.
The Red Devils trailed 28-15 at halftime.
Morgan Brewer led the Red Devils with 14 points, both Anna Rossi and Kaitlyn Kinne scored 11 points and Sierra Kinne added 10 points.
For Oneida, senior Sydney Lusher posted a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She added eight assists and had six blocks.
Kaylin Curro scored a game-high 25 points for the Indians, knocking down six threes. Jordan French finished with nine points and four rebounds.
Oneida is 2-1 on the season, while VVS is 2-0.
