View announces award winners for Quilts Unlimited exhibit

OLD FORGE — View has announced the award winners of Quilts Unlimited. Former President of the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges, Pat Harrison, was the Juror of Awards for the 2020 Exhibition, which can be seen at View through Nov. 7 or online at www.ViewArts.org/Exhibitions. 

The Exhibition’s “Best in Show” was awarded to Judith Craddock for her quilt “Love Letters.” The quilt was also awarded the “Silver Needle,” given out for the Best Hand Quilting.

The “NACQJ Award of Merit” was awarded to “Painted Shards-Before Quarantine I Was a White Bed Sheet” by Nancy DiDonato.

For the category of “Art Quilts,” Nancy Mirman won 1st Place for “Memories in a High Rise” and “Mother and Child” by Susan Robinson was awarded 2nd Place.

For “Bed Quilts,” Karen Leavitt Hanley was awarded 1st Place for “Unity Medallion” and “Patience” by Donnie Brownsey was 2nd Place.

Nancy DiDonato’s “Painted Shards – Before Quarantine I Was a White Bed Sheet” won 1st Place in the “Wall Quilt” category with “Shifting Perspectives” by Ronald Stefanak taking 2nd Place.
