Utica to celebrate legacy of Saint Marianne Cope
UTICA — As a run-up to the upcoming 10th anniversary of Saint Marianne’s canonization, the Catholic Churches of Greater Utica are having a festival-style celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia Street.
Two new “Utica Has A Saint” signs will be installed on the third floor north-facing wall of the Parish Center. The signs will be blessed and lit for the first time during the celebration.
Admission to the event is free, while tickets for the BBQ chicken dinner will be $12. Utica Coffee, Saranac soft drinks, bottled water, wine and beer will also be available for purchase.
Anthony LaBarbera, Cassandra Harris-Lockwood, Maureen Griffin, Butler-Sheehan Academy of Irish Dance and La Banda Rossa are all expected to appear and entertain attendees.
