Utica teen’s murder focus of CBS show Saturday

The murder of 17-year-old Bianca Devins in Utica will be the focus of the series premiere episode of “48 Hours” on CBS Saturday night.

The episode will air at 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. CBS is channel 5 on Spectrum.

Officials said the episode will feature the first national television interview of Kim Devins, Bianca’s mother. She will discuss the loss of her daughter and the attacks on her family in the years following the murder.

According to law enforcement officials, Devins had her throat cut by 22-year-old Brandon Clark while they sat in a car on dead-end Poe Street in Utica on July 14, 2019. Authorities said Clark recorded the murder and then posted pictures of Devins’ mutilated body on several social media platforms.

Those images were downloaded by an untold number of people across the internet. Family members have said that anonymous people on the internet continue to send those pictures to family members via email and other means, years after Devins’ death.

Clark eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced in March to 25 years to life in state prison.
