Utica man charged with threatening home with shotgun
UTICA — A Utica man was charged with threatening a household with a shotgun on Elm Street Monday afternoon, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Deronn Pool, 27, went to a residence in the 1600 block of Elm Street around 5:30 p.m. Monday and asked to speak to a person inside the residence. When the front door opened for him, police said Pool was holding a shotgun inside a duffel bag, with the gun pointed at the people inside.
The door was slammed shut and police said Pool took the weapon to a vehicle parked in the street. Officers responded and spoke to those involved, and they said they saw the shotgun and duffel bag in the backseat of the vehicle.
Pool is charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree possession of a weapon, police stated. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
