Utica man accused of stabbing another person in Frankfort
FRANKFORT — A 20-year-old man is accused of stabbing another person during a large fight outside the Utica Academy of Science, according to the Frankfort Police Department.
Police said Justin K. Brown, of Utica, was one of multiple people fighting in the parking lot outside the Utica Academy of Science on School Lane in Frankfort on Dec. 14. Police said none of those involved were students at the school.
A male victim was stabbed multiple times and went to the St. Elizabeth campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System, police said. The victim was treated for critical injuries.
Following an investigation, police said Brown was identified and a warrant was issued. Brown turned himself in on Tuesday and is charged with one count each of first-degree assault, a class B felony; and fourth-degree possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, authorities stated. He was arraigned in Frankfort Town Court and was sent to the Herkimer County jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
Brown is scheduled to return to court on March 28.
