Syracuse staple Brooklyn Pickle coming to Utica in 2023

UTICA — After a week of rumors circulating, Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri confirmed that Brooklyn Pickle will be opening a store in downtown Utica.

Brooklyn Pickle is a well known staple in the Syracuse area, known for its giant sandwiches, quick service, and being a destination for many people in the Mohawk Valley to visit before returning back to the area.

“We welcome Brooklyn Pickle to our community with open arms,” Palmieri said. “It’s exciting to see buildings in the downtown and Bagg’s Square Corridor be revitalized and filled with successful small businesses. I thank Brooklyn Pickle for investing and opening their business in Utica.”

What will set the Utica store apart from the other Syracuse locations is that they will be the first Brooklyn Pickle store to offer beer on their menu.

Brooklyn Pickle is on track to open in March of 2023 at 600 State St., located in the former Empire Kitchen and Bath building directly across Wynn Hospital. The anticipated hours of operation are scheduled to be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Joined by Palmieri in the announcement was Vice President of Brooklyn Pickle Craig Kowadla, Managing Member of Lynn D’Elia Temes & Stanczyk, LLC. Timothy Lynn and Managing Member of Lahinch Group, LLC. Joe Gehm.

Brooklyn Pickle will lease space on part of the first floor, with the remainder of the building being available for other retail and commercial space, as well as 64 residential units. Ample parking will be available to patrons of Brooklyn Pickle upon their opening with over 150 parking spaces behind the building.

“It’s time to grow, it makes sense to grow,” Kowadla said. “We’re excited to be here. Utica is a food town, it is a growing city, it’s got a nice family feel to it, it’s kinda like a tight knit community, so we look forward to coming here and serving Utica.”
