Syracuse man charged with violating court order in Rome
ROME — A 38-year-old man is accused of violating an order of protection in Rome, according to officials with the Rome Police Department.
Police said Georges Akl, of Syracuse, was parked behind a woman with an order of protection against him in the parking lot of her place of employment in Rome around 1 p.m. Aug. 16.
Police said Akl was spotted with his arm and cell phone out of his vehicle window, as if taking pictures or filming the protected party.
Following an investigation, police said Akl was charged on Wednesday with one count of second-degree contempt.
He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court, the law enforcers added.
