SUNY Potsdam lauds local members of Class of 2021

POTSDAM — The State University of New York at Potsdam recognized several area students who are members of the Class of 2021 during a series of commencement ceremonies on Saturday, including livestreamed socially-distanced ceremonies and special recognition of “virtual” graduates.

This year’s graduating class includes the following area students:

Ashley Calhoun, of Vernon, bachelor’s degree with honors, music education;

Gianna Citriniti, of Utica, bachelor’s degree, physics;

Brianna Colon, of Rome, bachelor’s degree, history and middle/secondary social studies education;

Destin Doherty, of Marcy, bachelor’s degree with honors, English and creative writing;

Elizabeth Eastman, of Deansboro, bachelor’s degree with honors, childhood/early childhood education;

Gabby Hobika, of New Hartford, bachelor’s degree with honors, exercise science;

Danielle Hughes, of Whitesboro, bachelor’s degree with honors, music education;

Emma Rogers, of Oriskany, bachelor’s degree with honors, literature/writing and middle/secondary English education;

Kennedy Steria, of Camden, bachelor’s degree with honors, art studio;

Owen Williams, of Barneveld, bachelor’s degree, art studio; and

Adam Yerden, of Redfield, bachelor’s degree, computer science.
