Stewart’s donates $500 to Rome Historical Society

Stewart’s Holiday Match program has donated $500 to the Rome Historical Society, 200 Church St.

Each year since 1986, Stewart’s has collected and matched donations in their shops between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The program was created to benefit programs for children under the age of 18 in the areas of social services, health, education, recreation, and the arts.

The RHS mission is to actively research, collect, preserve and present the historical importance of Rome, and to serve as an educational and community resource. Funds received through Stewart’s Holiday Match will be used to develop hands-on and virtual programs utilizing or featuring items from the RHS collection, along with other public outreach programs to benefit children in the community and throughout the region.

“The Stewart’s Holiday Match program is a wonderful way to show support for organizations like RHS,” said Miranda Sherrock, RHS educator. “We look forward to investing in new collection-based programs to engage young people in local history.”

Stewart’s Holiday Match Program has allocated $32 million to thousands of organizations since the program’s inception. To learn more about Stewart’s contribution program visit
