ONEIDA CASTLE — State police are asking for help from anyone who may have information on the black SUV used by the men accused of killing Tyler McBain in Oneida Castle this week.
The two black males suspected in the Tuesday homicide fled the scene on Seneca Avenue in Oneida Castle in a black 2017 Ford Explorer, troopers said.
They were chased along the Thruway into Seneca County, where authorities said they crashed near the intersection of Route 318 and Nine-foot Road — just across the road from the Waterloo Premium Outlets mall.
One of the suspects, 22-year-old Travon Golden, was taken into custody at the scene of the crash, authorities said. The second suspect remains at large.
Golden has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, authorities said. McBain, age 22, was shot once in the upper torso, troopers stated.
State police are looking for anyone who was in the area of the Waterloo Premium Outlets at around 2:45 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, who may have photos or dash-camera footage of the two black males running from the crash scene.
Anyone with information or footage is asked to call Troop D in Oneida at 315-366-6000.
