Smith Post to host chicken barbecue


Honor America Days may have been canceled but the Smith Post American Legion’s annual crowd pleasing chicken barbecue will still go on, according to an announcement by event organizers at the post.

The barbecue will be held at the Smith Post, 325 Erie Blvd. West, on Saturday July 25, from noon until the chicken is gone, organizers said, adding that the meal with consist of a half-chicken, salt potatoes, cowboy beans and a dinner roll. The cost is $10 per meal. People can also purchase an additional eight-ounce side of cowboy beans for $2.

The event is takeout only.

“We would like to thank those who have left us bottles and cans in the collection area on the right side of the building. It has helped us immensely as we wait for our business to pick up again,” the event organizers added.

“Feel free to let friends and family know they can drop off recyclables there at any time. We really appreciate it,” they added.
