Shoplifting charged at Rome Grand Union
ROME — A 59-year-old man is accused of shoplifting from the Grand Union in Rome, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Amadeo J. Deblasiis, of Rome, stole $14 worth of groceries at the Grand Union on Erie Boulevard by hiding them in his coat at about 8:18 a.m. Jan. 21. The authorities were notified, and police said Deblasiis gave a fake name and year of birth to the officers.
Deblasiis was properly identified at the scene, police said, and he was taken into custody on charges of petty larceny and false personation. He was released on appearance tickets to Rome City Court.
