ROME — The Rome Police Department welcomed one new part-time member and welcomed back a full-time police officer at a small ceremony at City Hall on Friday.

Police Officer Michael F. Uhl rejoined the Rome Police Department after working a stint with the Town of Webb Police Department, authorities said. Uhl started with the Rome Police before transferring to Webb, and has now transferred back to Rome. Uhl is a fourth generation Rome police officer with 15-years of experience in law enforcement.

Part-time Police Officer Brian Warcup has joined the Rome Police after working 36 years for the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department. Warcup retired from the Sheriff’s Office in November.

“Both of these officers will be an asset to the Rome Police Department and we are excited to have them,” department officials stated.

Both men were sworn into service at Rome City Hall on Friday.
