Route 5/12 ramp closure scheduled for today

UTICA — The ramp from eastbound Route 5 and northbound Route 12 to Campion Road in New Hartford and Utica will be closed today for paving operations, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The closure will take place from noon to 6 p.m., weather permitting, state officials said. Construction equipment and signs will notify motorists of the ramp closure at the scene.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
