ROME — A Rome resident has been charged by the city for housing five pigs at her home on Whittier Avenue, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Charity B. Mansoor, 46, was housing and raising five pigs at her residence, leading to multiple neighbor complaints. According to a city ordinance, it is illegal to maintain swine within the inner district of Rome.
Mansoor was charged with the ordinance on Nov. 14 and is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court. Police officials said the pigs were not seized.
