ROME — A 39-year-old woman has ben charged with punching her companion in the face Sunday night, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Kelly L. Wellington, of Rome, was talking with the man in a vehicle stopped on Rome-Westernville Road when the pair got into a domestic dispute. Police said Wellington punched the man three times in the face, causing injuries.

Wellington is charged with one count of third-degree assault, police stated. She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
