ROME — The Rome Sports Hall of Fame and Museum has received a $1,250 grant from the Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Fund, which supports youths under age 18 in their market areas.
According to Dave Sbaraglia, executive director at the Hall the Fame, the money will be used for youth sports recognition receptions, and high school sports personality awards presented annually.
Since 1986, Stewarts Shops have collected and matched customer donations from Thanksgiving until Christmas. This holiday season, the foundation received 1,990 applications requesting over $5 million in support with $2 million to donate.
The Stewarts program has generated over $36 million since the programs inception, crediting the success to customers and generous contributions.
