ROME — The Rome City School District will offer its kindergarten registration from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, through Friday, March 10.
All kindergarten registrations will take place at the child’s home school, except for evening registration from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the district office, 409 Bell Road. The home school is determined by the child’s address. For questions about which school a child will attend, call the central registrar’s office at 315-338-6569.
The following must be provided at the time of registration:
Proof of age such as a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport or proper transfer papers. A child must be 5 on or before Dec. 1 to register for kindergarten.
Record of current immunizations.
Three proofs of residency, including one of either a landlord statement, lease agreement, deed, paycheck stub, income tax form, electric utility bill, water bill or a mortgage statement; and two of either a court order, government issued document, driver’s license, non-driver’s license, internet service, bank statement, U.S. Postal address change, phone bills, voter’s card, auto insurance, notarized letter of residency, credit card statements and affidavits. The residence listed must be consistent with all submitted documents.
Custody papers, if the child is not residing with both parents. If the child will be residing with the non-custodial parent, then a parent affidavit will need to be filled out and submitted prior to registration.
If the child is currently attending the Rome City School District Pre-K program at Clough, RCS or MVCAA-Rome Head Start, please submit three new proofs of residency with the intent to register form provided by the child’s teacher.
