Rome NAACP branch to host virtual meetings

The Rome Branch NAACP will host two virtual town halls this month.
The first virtual town hall, “Covid and the Holidays,” will be held on Monday, Dec. 14, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Rome Branch NAACP is partnering with the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley and The Neighborhood Center on this event, and clinicians will discuss the challenges of coping with the holidays and potential limitations as a resultof the COVID-19 pandemic.
Healthy ways of coping and information about local resources will be discussed, the NAACP announcement added.

A second virtual event,”More Than Just Words,” hosted by the NAACP Religious Affairs Committee, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 26, starting at 7 p.m.
Participants can join local faith leaders as they explore the words of faith in the Declaration of Independence, The Gettysburg Address and Dr. Martin Luther Kings Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
