ROME — A Rome man was charged with possessing an illegal firearm magazine after he reported a domestic dispute on Sunday, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Andre C. Brooks, 38, went to the police station around 2 a.m. Sunday to report threats from his live-in ex-girlfriend on East Bloomfield Street. Police said Brooks also mentioned that he owned a pistol without a permit and other firearm-related paraphernalia.

Officers went to the residence to speak to the ex, and police said they found an extended gun magazine belonging to Brooks.

Brooks is charged with one count of third-degree possession of a weapon, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
