The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce has honored DiCastro’s Brick Oven Restaurant, 615 Erie Blvd. W., and owners Jim and Lisa DiCastro, by naming the eatery as its Member of the Week.
The Member of the Week program is designed, chamber officials say, to recognize a local business for its achievements and community support.
“In 2010 when DiCastro‘s opened, we felt like we were asking the public to come and have dinner with us and enjoy our families recipes,” the DiCastros said in the chamber announcement. “Throughout the past 10 years we have made a lot of changes to enhance your dining experience. To authenticate our Italian recipes we imported several pasta machines and even the Caputo flour we use direct from Italy. This resulted in our ability to make and serve over 10 varieties of homemade pasta.”
“DiCastro’s passion for providing everything made in house and from scratch then created our own salad dressings. Our Antipasto dressing has become so well loved we now bottle it for resale,” the owners said. “And cannot forget the primary reason we opened, our wood fired brick oven pizza. Our Neapolitan style pizza cooks at over 600 degrees and ready to eat in under three minutes.”
“At DiCastro’s we pride ourselves in the quality of our food, the friendliness of our knowledgeable staff and the warm atmosphere of our restaurant to make you feel right at home,” the DiCastros said. “We are extremely grateful to all the customers who have patronized our restaurant throughout the years.”
