Robert “Bob” Scott Snowberger, 73, formerly of Rome, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He enlisted in the US Army in February, 1967, serving one tour in Vietnam. After 22 years of dedicated and meritorious service to his country, he retired from the Army in August, 1989, having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. After a 4 year stint as a manager at Sears & Roebuck, he was hired at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Marcy, NY. He spent the next 18 years working for Wal-Mart Logistics, 10 of those years spent at Distribution Center 6070 in Shelby, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dawn M. (LaMark), Raeford, NC; his sons, Robert P., Hope Mills, NC, John W. and Tracy R., Milwaukee, WI; his grandchildren, Chris A., Vincenza, Italy, Jeffrey T., Hope Mills, NC, Sierra M., Hope Mills, NC; as well as his siblings, Janet Wetz, Eustis, FL, John and Betty Snowberger, Eustis, FL, Fred and Gale Rich, Cedar Mountain, NC, and Terry Snowberger, Mt. Dora, FL. In addition, he leaves behind dozens of nephews, nieces, and in-laws who loved him dearly.
Bob loved to fish and garden but most of all he loved to joke, his smile and laugh being wildly contagious. He touched people’s lives; if you were lucky enough to call him family or friend, you were truly fortunate. He will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you make a memorial donation to the ALS Association.
