Registered sex offender charged after not reporting home address, Utica police say
UTICA — A registered sex offender in Utica is accused of failing to stay in compliance with his annual registration requirements, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Jacob Frere, 31, of Utica, was found to not be in compliance with his annual registration and residence checks in April 2022. Police said Frere no longer lived at his authorized address, and officers were unable to find him for several months.
A warrant was issued for Frere and he was located on Friday by the U.S. Marshall's Regional Fugitive Task Force, authorities stated. He is charged with failure to verify address and is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
