ONEIDA — A variety of proposed legislation and a public hearing awaits the city’s Common Council at its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kallet Civic Center, 159 Main St.
Among the items on the meeting agenda include:
A public hearing on a proposed local law to amend Article 5, Section 5.24 of the Oneida City Charter. The local law would be amended to read in its entirety, as follows:
“The City of Oneida shall have one Assessor appointed by the Mayor for a six year term, which office of Assessor shall be designated as a non-competitive class of the civil service. The Assessor may also be employed in any other position by the City not incompatible with the office of Assessor. The Assessor shall meet all the minimum qualification standards as required by the Real Property Tax Law. Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, the Assessor shall possess all the powers and duties of an Assessor as provided in the Real Property Tax Law.”
Receive and place on file monthly reports from the City Clerk, City Engineer, Codes Department, Comptroller, Fire Department, Planning Department, Parks and Recreation Department and Police Dept.
Resolution 21-185 was tabled at the Oct. 5 Council Meeting. Reopen discussion and vote on said Resolution to approve the Water Board recommendation for a leak adjustment at 425 McGuire St.
Introduce Local Law
Introduce Local Law No. 11 to impose a 12 month moratorium on boarding house and/or rooming house uses within the city of Oneida and to schedule a Public Hearing for Monday, Nov. at 6:30 pm, Common Council Chambers, 109 N. Main St. Oneida.
Approve Budget Transfers/Amendments as outlined by the Comptroller.
Introduce Local Law
Introduce Local Law No. 12, pursuant to Cannabis Law §131 opting out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site consumption establishments within the City of Oneida and to schedule a Public Hearing for Monday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 pm, Common Council Chambers, 109 N. Main St.
Insurance Plan Renewal
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Excellus Plan Renewal effective Jan. 1, 2022.
