VERONA - Comments are now being sought by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on the proposed construction of a three megawatt solar array on a 15-acre parcel situated at the Spring Road and Tilden Hill Road intersection, according to a notice.
The applicant, Pivot Solar of Ithaca, has obtained a State Environmental Quality Review (commonly known as a SEQR) and the review found the project will not have a significant effect on the environment.
Comments on the project are due no later than Feb. 24, 2022 to: Todd J. Philipps, NYSDEC. State Office Building - 207 Genesee St., Utica, NY, 13501.
Pivot’s plan has been given the OK by the town of Verona and there have already been local public hearings on the project, said town supervisor Scott Musacchio.
Currently, there are four solar projects going through the approval process in the town, Musacchio said.
