LETTER: Praise for Mathletics competitors
I read with interest the article about the Mathletics competitors in Tuesday’s (October 18) Daily Sentinel. It’s refreshing to see a positive article about today’s high school students who are striving to learn and compete in this academic pursuit.
But what concerned me was the third paragraph
“In addition to the Hamilton team, students from Camden, Canastota, Clinton, New Hartford, Oneida, Oriskany, Stockbridge Valley, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Westmoreland and Whitesboro competed Saturday.”
Something was missing from this list of area schools...
A team from Rome.
I hope that in the future, there will be a team from our RFA and a teacher who will mentor them. More than ever, in the aftermath of the pandemic, our students would benefit from this opportunity of learning and encouragement in this academic competition.
