Police seize methamphetamine in traffic stop
ROME — A 36-year-old man was found with a felony amount of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Rome Thursday evening, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said William J. Zygmunt, of Rome, was pulled over for driving on a suspended license on Erie Boulevard West at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday. After he was taken into custody, police said they searched his vehicle and found a felony amount of meth.
Zygmunt is charged with one count each of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, authorities stated. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
