A 35-year-old woman was found with a quantity of drugs in Rome after law enforcement officials said she was spotted bicycling at 3 a.m. Monday, authorities said.
Police said Ashley R. Schmidt, of Second Street, was bicycling on Harbor Way at 3 a.m. Monday, and she was found to have an open warrant from Utica City Court.
Police said Schmidt’s backpack was searched and they found a bubble gum container with a quantity of heroin inside.
Schmidt is charged with one count of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, police stated.
She was issued a ticket for Rome City Court, and was then handed over to Utica Police, the law enforcers added.
