Police say Rome man shoved woman, newborn infant

A 29-year-old man is accused of endangering his newborn child during a dispute with the mother in Rome, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Darin R. Klock, of Rome, was in an argument with his ex-girlfriend on Fort Stanwix Park North around 11 a.m. Dec. 22.

Police said the woman was trying to put the car seat in her vehicle with their newborn in the seat.

Police said Klock grabbed the seat to stop her, then shoved the woman into the car while she was holding the seat and baby.

Police said Klock left after the woman threatened to call 9-1-1.

A warrant was issued for Klock and police said he was located during a traffic stop in Rome on Wednesday.

Klock is charged with one count each of second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child, police stated.

He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
