Police say man held knife to woman's throat during dispute


A Rome man is accused of choking a woman and threatening her with a knife at the Bloomfield Garden Apartments.

Police said James M. Collazo, 29, choked a woman and held a knife to her throat during a domestic dispute at his apartment at about 3 a.m. Sunday. Police said Collazo did this in front of his young son.

Collazo is charged with one count each of criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, police stated. He is scheduled to appear in City Court.
