Police parking, water deal on Common Council agenda

The Rome Common Council will meet tonight at 7. Among agenda items, is a measure allowing the city to enter into an agreement with the First Presbyterian Church for the use of parking lots to fulfill employee parking at the Justice Building.

Per the resolution, the city will pay up to $2,500 for snow plowing, and later splitting the cost with the church should the amount exceed $3,500 for the plow service during the winter.

Another measure, if approved, would extend the inter-municipal agreement between the city and town of Lee for the supply of water to portions of the town, which it has done since 1968. The current five year supply term ends in December, but per contract can be extended by five, five-year terms.

According to documents, the city supplies the town with an average of 550,000 gallons per day to use. In the current contract, the town paid a rate between $3.1743 and $3.7765 per 1,000 gallons of water during the last five years.

The public may listen to the meeting by telephone, by dialing 1-408-418-9388 and entering access code 129 832 0080#.
