Lucy is 2-year-old shy kitty who lives in the community room with other cats, but would love to find a quiet home and family of her own. If you would like to meet her, stop by Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, 7138 Sutherland Drive, Canastota, or give them a call at 315-697-2796.
Sebastian This very sweet 2-year-old male cat comes packed with personality! He’s very food motivated and will talk to you endlessly if you provide him with eats. He loves attention, is incredibly affectionate and will just curl himself around your legs to show his love. If you call his name, he will follow you around. He would do best in a home with no other pets or maybe just one other cat. It’s important to note that black cats have a hard time getting adopted. They often tend to be overlooked at shelters and they also don’t photograph well. A reminder, it is important to not adopt a black cat just because it’s around Halloween. A cat (black, white, orange or whatever color) is a lifelong commitment, an addition to your family and a forever friend and companion. To visit Sebastian, stop by the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Road, call 315-336-7070 or go to www.humanesocietyrome.com.
Lucy is one of the shelter’s long-term residents. Lucy came in as a stray and no one came looking for her. She came in over a year ago and is about 3 1/2 years old now. Lucy is a sweet girl. She sometimes takes a minute to warm up to new people. She has done well with other dogs and cats. The shelter staff doesn’t have any issues handling her, however, she strongly dislikes vet care. Something about it just really scares her, and this could be a lifelong struggle for her, but she is still a great girl. Lucy is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped.
