Baby is a 6-year-old pit bull who has a heart of gold. Baby was surrendered to the shelter because she was too much for her owners to handle. Baby is a big strong gal, but with a little bit of direction she’s already making huge strides on her leash walking. Her favorite things include stuffed toys, toys with squeakers, all sorts of treats, and receiving love and affection from people. She would do well in a home with other dogs and kids. She could do well with cats, but would need very slow introductions. Watch out because Baby is notorious for those big slobbery kisses! To visit Baby, stop by the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Road, call 315-336-7070 or go to www.humanesocietyrome.com.
Daisy My name is Daisy! I am very distinguished at 12 years old. Most of the time you can find me curled up in my favorite bed or laying on my foster’s lap. I don’t mind other cats and I love people! I don’t enjoy being picked up, but if you let me I will curl up in your lap and nap all day. I am the perfect companion for someone who would like a quiet, mellow kitty to snuggle. I am currently in a foster home as I was recovering from some medical issues, but I would love a family I can live the rest of my life with. If you want to meet Daisy, stop by Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, 7138 Sutherland Drive, Canastota, or give them a call at 315-697-2796. To adopt, submit an application at www.wanderersrest.org.
Nina is one of our long-term residents, she has been here for 1 year and 8 months. She is almost 7 years old. She she was brought to us by animal control after living in a crate in an apartment hallway. Nina takes a minute to trust new people, but once she warms up she is such a great dog. She is very playful and when no one is available to play with her, she entertains herself. Nina loves tennis balls, and toys, splashing around in the pools, you name it! She does well with other dogs and we have used her as a tester dog. She also seems to be okay around cats. Nina may need more than one meet to get comfortable with potential adopters, but we know there’s someone out there for her! Nina is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee has been sponsored. Apply online to adopt: https://www.anitas-sshs.org/adopt/apply/Dog.
