Pick-a-Pet: These furry friends are looking for a home
This handsome guy is named Sebastian, a 2-year-old shepherd/husky mix. He’s definitely a dog who enjoys getting outdoors and he would love to find someone who will take him on long, luxurious walks. He also wants to share some long, luxurious naps with that special someone or family. He gets along very well with cats and kids and he has excellent leash manners. He knows a few commands such as “sit” and “come.” He’s the perfect match for a family who wants to have fun. To visit Sebastian, stop by the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Road, call 315-336-7070 or go to www.humanesocietyrome.com.

This handsome guy is Meeko. He is 3 years old and came in as a stray about three months ago. Sadly, no one came looking for Meeko, so he’s ready to start a new life. He is a friendly pup who loves to play. He does well with other dogs, but will need a home without cats. Meeko is neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $120. Apply here to adopt: www.anitas-sshs.org/adopt/apply/Dog. Anita’s Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, 315-738-4357, www.anitas-sshs.org.

Toona is a big girl who warms up quickly to people who respect her boundaries. She’s an explorer, loves on her people, and is very eager to be settled in a home of her own. While she did not fare well in the shelter (some animals just get too stressed out by it), she has been excellent in her foster home. Toona gets along well with little humans, as long as they aren’t grabby. She loves playing with fishing pole toys if they’re whipped through the air like a bird. She uses the litter box perfectly. She doesn’t have any pet siblings at her foster home, but her foster family thinks she’d like a laidback friend to play with. Toona’s foster family has tons of videos and lots of tips on how to win Toona’s heart, so let us know if you’d like to know more about her by calling Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association at 315-697-2796.
