Petitions available for Adirondack board of education March 1
BOONVILLE — Petitions for Adirondack Central School District board of education candidates seeking placement on the ballot will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Wednesday, March 1, at the district office, 110 Ford St.
There are two seats open in the May 16 election. To qualify for a seat on the board, an individual must be:
- 18 years of age or older.
- A citizen of the United States.
- A resident but not necessarily a taxpayer of the Adirondack Central School District for an uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately before the election.
- Not convicted of a felony or have been adjudged an incompetent.
- Not removed from any school district office within the preceding year.
- Not a current employee of the school board.
- Able to read and write.
- Not residing with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family.
- Not simultaneously holding another incompatible public office.
Petitions bearing a minimum of 25 valid signatures must be returned by no later than 4 p.m., Monday, April 17, to the District Clerk’s Office, 110 Ford St., Boonville, New York 13309.
