Pearl Axton, 16-year-old companion, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Dr. Nickel’s Animal Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Pearl was rescued at the age of 1, by Sydney Axton and family, in Cayuga County.

Pearl went on to be an incredibly talented and special dog. Pearl was a service dog for Sydney throughout the years. Not only was she Sydney’s service dog, she was her best friend.

Pearl attended SUNY Canton College with Sydney from August of 2016 to May of 2020. Pearl received a degree on her behalf, the Degree of Honor for providing support and completing Veterinary Technology, B.S.

Pearl inspired Sydney to go into the field she is in today, being a Veterinary Technician, in hopes to be interactive with incredible dogs like Pearl throughout her lifetime.

Pearl made an impact on many in her community and will be dearly missed.
