Part of Route 171 in Frankfort to be closed until September
FRANKFORT — The New York State Department of Transportation announced Aug. 9 that State Route 171 will be closed from Gulf Road to West Main Street in the Town of Frankfort beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15.
The closure is to facilitate retaining wall repairs. All construction work is weather dependent and State Route 171 is anticipated to reopen in early September.
Motorists will be directed to follow signed detours.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
