VILLAGE OF SYLVAN BEACH — An Oswego County man is accused of stealing in both Sylvan Beach and Vienna after he was hired as a contractor in the village, according to law enforcement officials.
State police said Dana J. Boyden, 38, of Oswego, was hired at a job site in Sylvan Beach in late June, and he brought along a unique-looking vehicle. Beginning in late June, troopers said they started receiving reports of thefts in both the Village of Sylvan Beach and the Town of Vienna, and state police in Seneca County were investigating a similar theft in Waterloo.
Troopers said Boyden’s unique vehicle had been spotted at or near the reported thefts, so a search warrant was executed at his residence in the City of Oswego.
State police said they found several of the stolen items, including antique car memorabilia, power tools and building supplies.
Boyden is charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny and misdemeanor petty larceny in Vienna, charged with fourth-degree grand larceny in Sylvan Beach, and is charged with petty larceny in the Town of Tyre in Seneca County, troopers said. He was released on appearance tickets to all three jurisdictions and is scheduled to appear in all three courts.
