Oneida police investigate, say drug deal turned into armed robbery


CITY OF ONEIDA — A drug deal turned armed robbery Wednesday night is under investigation in Madison County.

No arrests have been made so far.

Police said two white males were involved in a drug deal at about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Washington Ave., near Main and Broad streets. Police said the deal turned into an armed robbery and several gunshots were fired.

No one is believed to have been injured.

The two suspects then fled the scene westbound in a dark blue 2013 Nissan Altima. Police said the four-door sedan was found abandoned on Mill Street in the Town of Vernon.

Anyone with information on the robbery, or who may have camera footage of the area, is asked to call Oneida Police at 315-363-2323. All calls will be kept confidential.
