One ticketed, one hospitalized following Verona crash
VERONA — One driver was hospitalized, one was ticketed after a U-turn in front of the Thruway interchange in Verona on Sunday night, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies said John A. Girolamo, 72, of Canastota, Madison County, was driving on Route 365 at about 10 p.m. when he attempted to make a U-turn in front of the Thruway entrance. Deputies said Girolamo cut off 21-year-old Logan J. Joyner, of Williamstown, Oswego County, causing their vehicles to collide.
Joyner suffered minor injuries and was treated at Oneida Health, authorities said. Girolamo also suffered minor injuries and he was treated at the scene, deputies stated. Girolamo was ticketed for the crash and he is scheduled to appear in Verona Town Court.
