Oneida County Office for the Aging and Continuing Care will begin distributing coupon booklets to local seniors to be redeemed at community farmers markets.

All participants must be age 60 or older and have proof of age if needed.

Income eligibility requirements

  • Participant must not have received coupons from another source.
  • One coupon booklet per single person household.
  • Two coupon booklets per married couple, but each must sign for a booklet.
  • Powers of Attorney may pick up coupons for a senior, but must bring paperwork showing them as a POA. If there is no proof, then no coupons will be distributed. A proxy can only pick up coupons with the state proxy form signed by the participant, which can be mailed to the participant by Oneida County Office for the Aging.
  • Coupons can be mailed after the paperwork is filled out to the satisfaction of state requirements and Oneida County Office for the Aging.

Income requirements

  • Monthly gross income not to exceed $2,096 for single person household.
  • Monthly gross income not to exceed $2,823 for married couple or two-person household.
  • Monthly gross income not to exceed $3,551 for a three-person household.
  • All participants must meet age and one of the income eligibility requirements for the coupons.
  • Each SFMNP check booklet is worth $25 and contains five $5 checks.
  • The coupons can only be used to purchase local fresh fruits and vegetables, and cut herbs only — no plants.
  • Participants cannot use last year’s coupons, and if coupons are lost, they cannot be replaced.

  • Whitesboro Farmers Market — 10 Park Ave., Monday, July 18, 2-4 p.m.
  • City of Utica Farmers Market — Chancellor Park – Elizabeth Street, Wednesday, July 20, 10 a.m. to noon.
  • Clinton Farmers Market — Village Green, 21 W. Park Row, Thursday, July 21, 10 a.m. to noon.
  • Vienna Farmers Market — 7812 Route 13, Blossvale, Thursday, July 21, 3-4:30 p.m.
  • Oneida County Public Market —REA Wing Union Station, 321 Main St., Downtown Utica, Saturday, July 23, 9 a.m. to noon.
  • Boonville Farmers Market — Erwin Park, Thursday, July 28 noon to 2 p.m.
